Overview
The Monetary Economics I course studies the concepts and fundamentals of monetary economics, including the meaning and function of money in the economy, various factors that determine the demand for money, the process of money creation by financial institutions. It also covers various monetary theories about the demand for assets and the behavior of interest rates. The development of various government policies and authorities in the monetary sector, banking and other financial institutions will be a case study in the discussion of relevant theories. The learning process for this course is organized in a blended learning with a flipped classroom model, namely using synchronous learning methods through direct face-to-face either online, hybrid, or offline for the case discussion process for in-depth material, and asynchronous learning through Airlangga University e-learning for independent learning on teaching materials provided by lecturers. The learning method used in lectures is case-based learning, namely formulating problems and solving problems both independently and in groups based on case studies given by the teaching lecturer. Learning is also carried out using a project-based learning method, namely compiling a final assignment determined by the lecturer. Assessment of learning competency achievement is carried out using an assessment portfolio model from several assessment methods according to the competencies that must be achieved by students.
