Abstract::
Increasing foreign demand for locally manufactured goods has become a key component of economic growth, with countries focusing on enhancing the technological content of their exports. However, the determinants of high-technology exports remain underexplored. This study investigates the influence of the knowledge-based economy on high-technology manufacturing exports across 20 major exporting countries from 2012 to 2021, using data from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation and a dynamic panel model (system GMM). The findings show that knowledge economy indicators significantly affect export performance. Advanced education positively influences sectors such as machinery, vehicles, aircraft, and manufactured goods, but negatively affects pharmaceuticals and some chemical products. Internet usage generally promotes exports, while R&D supports selected high-tech industries. Domestic credit reduces exports, whereas GDP promotes them, and corruption control and exchange rates have mixed effects. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening knowledge-based factors to enhance high-technology exports and support long- term economic growth.
