The Professional Accounting Education Program (PPAk) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga, has been offered since 2002 as a pathway for Bachelor of Accounting graduates to obtain the title of Professional Accountant. The program currently holds a 5-year "Unggul" (Excellent) accreditation from LAMEMBA, recognizing its academic quality and competitiveness.
Students receive integrated learning both in and outside the classroom (including internships) for an in-depth mastery of accounting concepts and principles. Graduates are prepared to become ethical, globally minded Professional Accountants, able to serve as Accountants in Business, handling managerial and operational functions in accounting, finance, taxation, and internal audit, or as Practicing Accountants, providing consulting services and professional opinions based on professional standards. PPAk students receive exemption 4 of the 7 examination subjects for the Professional Accountant certification administered by the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountant (Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia/IAI).
- Students are able to evaluate business processes, decisions, and conflicts of interest, based on professional code of ethics.
- Students are able to apply accounting related standards, principles, and regulations including relevant technology in professional environment.
- Students are able to collaborate and or lead a team effectively in professional engagements with a long-term perspective and responsibility.
- Students are able to analyze financial and sustainability information; and provide professional opinions and assurance to support strategic decision-making in a global context.
