(HIMA S1 MANAGEMENT NEWS), Surabaya, Saturday, September 20, 2025 – As part of the Management Expo 15 series, the Student Association (HIMA) S1 Management Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga successfully held a pre-event activity for the 2025 Management Olympiad in the form of a national webinar entitled “Next-Gen Leaders: Empowering Youth Through Business & Sustainability.” This activity was held online on Saturday, September 20, 2025, and was attended by hundreds of high school/vocational high school students from various regions in Indonesia.
This webinar serves as an educational and inspirational platform for the younger generation to understand the importance of becoming leaders who excel not only in business but also demonstrate social and environmental responsibility. The background of this activity is highly relevant to the current global context—where technological advancements, the climate crisis, and economic uncertainty demand the emergence of innovative, adaptive, and ethical young leaders.
HIMA S1 Management UNAIR took this theme as an effort to instill the values of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
The event began with remarks from the event leaders, including the CEO of Management Olympiad 2025, CEO of MEXPO 15, Chair of HIMA S1 Management, and Chair of the S1 Management Study Program Universitas Airlangga.
The keynote session featured Zainul Musthofa, SM, MBA, as the keynote speaker, with a management student serving as moderator. In his presentation, Zainul outlined four key points that are key to young leadership in the global era. He emphasized that the biggest challenge today is not just how to become a successful entrepreneur, but also how to create a sustainable business that positively contributes to society and the environment.
The interactive discussion was the most engaging part of the webinar. Participants' enthusiasm was evident in the variety of pointed questions about sustainable business practices and strategies for addressing global change. Zainul emphasized that "successful businesses in the future will be those that balance profit, people, and the planet."
The event then closed with a light game session and documentation with all participants.
The "Next-Gen Leaders" webinar had a significant impact in fostering a competitive, visionary, and responsible mindset among the younger generation. Targeting national participants, the event successfully broadened their understanding of the importance of sustainability as an integral part of future business strategies.
It is hoped that webinar participants will grow into young leaders and entrepreneurs who are not only managerially savvy but also socially and environmentally conscious—creating businesses that provide real benefits to society and the earth.
