(HIMA MANAGEMENT NEWS) Friday, May 23, 2025 — Enthusiasm filled the Cendrawasih Hall, Ex-Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga, when students of the Undergraduate Management Study Program gathered for COMBINE 2025, an annual event that this year carried the theme “Sustainability in Business: Elevating Your Competitive Edge.”
The event was officially opened with remarks from a number of representatives, including Mrs. Chorry Sulistyowati, SE, M.Sc., as a lecturer in the Undergraduate Management Study Program, Difkha as a representative of the Chair of the Undergraduate Management Student Association, and Carissa Hayu Naylah Tsary as the Chairperson of the event's organizing committee.
The series of events began with a "Discussion on Achievements" featuring Zainul Musthofa, SM, MBA, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga. In his presentation, he emphasized that sustainability principles are now a crucial element of global business strategy and can provide a real competitive advantage for companies that consistently implement them.
The atmosphere then shifted to a more interactive "Sharing Session" with two outstanding students, Reza Rafi Rizqi Musyaffa and Yesa Alfitriana. The two shared their experiences participating in various national-level business plan and business case competitions.
Reza shared his transformation from a complete unknown to a champion thanks to his consistency and application of sustainability principles to the business idea he developed with his team. Meanwhile, Yesa shared the challenges she faced and her strategies for participating in the competition, including the importance of presentation preparation, the courage to try, and selecting the right team members.
The participants' enthusiasm was evident throughout the session. Many actively asked questions and took notes on key points from the speakers' presentations. This session not only enriched their knowledge but also inspired them to continue learning, take risks, and create impactful ideas in the business competitions they participated in.
COMBINE 2025 is not only an educational event, but also an inspirational platform that encourages students to become adaptive, innovative, and solution-oriented individuals amidst the challenges of the sustainable business world.
One thing is certain: sustainability is not just a concept, but the future direction of the business world.
