Uniting Higher Education, Governments, Industry, and Society for a Sustainable Future " which was held on October 31 to November 3, 2022 At the meeting, discussed in depth about how to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by facing existing challenges, by changing the objectives into action and real impacts.
The delegation of Universitas Airlangga who attended the congress was Dr. Girl Meinar Sari, Dr., M.Kes as Chairman of LPPM UNAIR and Savira Rizma Yunita, SM as the Internal Coordinator of the SDGs Center of Airlangga University who is also a student of the Master of Science Management of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Airlangga).
On the first agenda, discussing about education, gender and inequality. In realizing quality education, the provision of educational facilities must be accepted and felt evenly without discrimination. In addition, in terms of gender, the world must erase all forms of violence against women. In this era, women's empowerment programs have been carried out in every country.
In the education, gender and inequality forum, the delegation of Universitas Airlangga proposes to create: (a) e-learning platform for students; (b) providing free access for the general public; (c) Implementation of community service activities that focus on increasing scientific and expertise in the 3T area (foremost, remote and disadvantaged); (d) Provision of inclusive education for students with special needs; and, (e) making and applying anti-discrimination policy in tertiary institutions.
On the second agenda, discussing about Health, Well-Being and Demography. When the world wrestles with Pandemi Covid and improving extreme weather and turbulent geopolitical situations, the need to ensure universal health care and improve welfare is never as big as this.
At the forum, the delegation argued that one form of real contribution made by Universitas Airlangga in supporting the provision of good and quality health facilities during the Covid-19 Pandemi was a university alert Covid-19. Universitas Airlangga Hospital became one of the first referral hospitals in Indonesia. The university has also provided health socialization to the surrounding community and all academicians. The university also participated in overcoming Pandemic Covid-19 through drug development and being part of the domestic vaccine development consortium named the Red and White vaccine.
On the last agenda, the delegation proposes to strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders to achieve SDG 17.
