Overview

This course discusses the basic concepts of operations and supply chain management, as well as the support of operations and supply chain management in organizational strategies, both manufacturing and service organizations. The operations management material begins with a discussion of the role of operations strategy in achieving organizational goals and related cases. Next, an understanding of process design includes product design and operations and supply chain processes, quality management, capacity planning, location and facilities, and facility layout. Starting the operations process is preceded by integrated planning, inventory, MRP and JIT, scheduling, and maintenance to support the achievement of high operational quality.
