Overview

Students are able to critique practical phenomena that occur regarding issues in the field of quality management and innovation science. Improving customer satisfaction and other stakeholders through effective goal setting, cost reduction, process improvement, people involvement, and supply chain development has proven essential for organizations to survive in recent years. Total quality management is much broader in its application than just ensuring the quality of products or services which is a way of managing an organization to improve every aspect of performance, both internally and externally (comprehensively). This course discusses how to manage quality comprehensively through operational innovation, which begins with an understanding of quality, Total Quality Management models and frameworks, the importance of leadership and commitment, the integration of Total Quality Management in the elaboration of company policies, strategies and objectives. In addition to discussing the importance of the role of cooperation and resources in the Total Quality Management approach, it also discusses how a company carries out the quality design process, develops a quality performance measurement framework, self-assessment, audits, reviews, benchmarking and change management, redesign / re-engineering, quality management systems, continuous improvement and ultimately efforts to implement Total Quality Management and its innovation.
