Overview

This course is designed to deepen the concepts and practices of Human Resource Management (HRM) learned in previous levels, with a primary focus on strategic HR management to support the achievement of organizational goals. This course will discuss the role of HRM in creating organizational competitive advantage through effective and sustainable policy development, planning, and strategy implementation. In this course, the discussion begins with the evolution and basic theory of strategic HRM, including models and approaches such as the Resource-Based View (RBV), High Performance Work Systems (HPWS), and Strategic International HRM. Next, the relationship between business strategy and HRM is discussed, including how to design policies and systems that align with organizational needs in the era of globalization and technological disruption. The discussion also covers strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining talent, performance management, strategic rewards, and the role of technology and data analytics in supporting evidence-based decision-making. In addition, students will be invited to understand contemporary issues such as Green HRM, organizational sustainability, and social responsibility in HRM management.
