Overview
This course provides students with comprehensive knowledge of Islamic teachings related to economics and public finance. The course will examine the historical aspects of Islamic public finance in general, the concepts and principles of government revenue and expenditure compared to conventional public finance, as well as their application from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the present day in several Muslim countries. Students will also be introduced to the concepts (theories) of Islamic fiscal policies and instruments.
