Overview
Islamic Business Planning and Modeling is a course taken by undergraduate students that provides in-depth knowledge and first-hand experience to enable them to develop and produce an integrative Islamic Business Plan covering: an explanation of the concept of Islam-based business; Islamic Business Models (covering the elements of: contracts, transactions, ethics, ukhuwah, and prohibitions in business activities); the potential of 10 sectors within the halal industry; Business Ideation (generating business ideas); Lean Canvas; Market Validation; Market/Industry Analysis; Production and Distribution Analysis; Human Resource Analysis; and Financial Analysis. Based on this business plan, students are expected to be able to develop a plan for creating a prototype. By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to effectively present (pitch) their Islamic business plan to an external audience.
