This course covers the basic concepts of statistical methods—namely, Descriptive Statistics and Inferential Statistics—and their application in addressing issues in Islamic economics and finance. The discussion of Descriptive Statistics includes data collection, the creation of frequency distributions, the measurement of central tendency and dispersion, and the presentation of data through various graphical visualizations. Meanwhile, Inferential Statistics covers the theoretical foundations of probability for statistics and the application of various estimation methods and hypothesis tests. The discussion in Inferential Statistics is divided into two approaches: the parametric and non-parametric approaches.
