Teaching CEO Presents Sagita Melati: Explore the Strategic Role of Corporate Secretary in the Company's Governance and Sustainability
On Friday, May 9, 2025, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) successfully held a Teaching CEO event at the Soepoyo Hall. This event presents Sagita Melati, Corporate Secretary of PT Campina Ice Cream Industry Tbk., As the main speaker. The discussion was guided neatly by Sandra Sukma E., SE, M.Akun., As the moderator.
In this session, Sagita Melati explained the crucial role of a corporate secretary in supporting the implementation of the principle of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) which prioritizes sustainability, transparency, and compliance with regulations. He explained in depth how this role was the key to maintaining the integrity of corporate governance, ranging from responsible decision making to risk mitigation of global challenges such as climate crises and geopolitical tensions.
In addition, Sagita also highlighted the importance of the application of the Principle of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) which has become an integral part of the company's business strategy. He stressed the importance of transparent communication with stakeholders, as well as how the sustainability strategy carried out by the Corporate Secretary can make a significant contribution to the success and endurance of the company in the long run.
The event was attended by students of the FEB Unair Accounting Study Program who gained valuable insight into the roles and responsibilities of corporate secretary in the professional world. Through this discussion, the participants are equipped with a deep understanding of the importance of responsible and sustainable governance as a provision to become an adaptive and visionary future leader.
Furthermore, the CEO teaching program also made a real contribution in supporting the sustainable development agenda. By instilling good governance values, awareness of environmental issues, and the importance of social accountability in business practices, this activity strengthens commitment to the achievement of global goals.
