CEO Mengajar Presents Sagita Melati: Exploring the Strategic Role of Corporate Secretaries in Corporate Governance and Sustainability
On Friday, May 9, 2025, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) successfully held the CEO Teaching event at the Soepoyo Hall. The event featured Sagita Melati, Corporate Secretary of PT Campina Ice Cream Industry Tbk., as the keynote speaker. The discussion was expertly moderated by Sandra Sukma E., SE, M.Akun.
In this session, Sagita Melati outlined the crucial role of a Corporate Secretary in supporting the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles, which prioritize sustainability, transparency, and regulatory compliance. She explained in depth how this role is key to maintaining corporate governance integrity, from responsible decision-making to risk mitigation for global challenges such as the climate crisis and geopolitical tensions.
Furthermore, Sagita highlighted the importance of implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, which have become an integral part of the company's business strategy. She emphasized the importance of transparent communication with stakeholders and how the sustainability strategy implemented by the Corporate Secretary can significantly contribute to the company's long-term success and resilience.
The event was attended by undergraduate students of the Accounting Program at FEB UNAIR, who gained valuable insights into the role and responsibilities of a Corporate Secretary in the professional world.
