Abstract

PERBANAS Surabaya College of Economics is one of the private universities in Surabaya which prioritizes the quality of its educational process, therefore human resources have an important role and position in supporting the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely the dharma of education, research and community service. This role will be carried out well if the academic community, both employees and permanent educational staff, have high work motivation, so that they can increase their job satisfaction. One factor that can reduce work motivation is work stress. Therefore, what needs to be studied is to look for any sources of work stress that can affect job satisfaction in employees and permanent educational staff. Using a proportional stratified random sampling technique on the population of employees and educational staff at the PERBANAS Surabaya College of Economics, the sources of work stress that influence job satisfaction of employees and permanent educational staff were analyzed. There are four independent variables analyzed, namely: environmental variables outside the organization, organizational conditions, work groups, and individual personality types. The results of the research show that environmental variables outside the organization, organizational conditions, work groups and individual personality types together do not have a significant influence on employee job satisfaction at the PERBANAS Surabaya College of Economics, because of the four independent variables identified, it turns out that only one variable independent variables, namely environmental variables outside the organization that have a significant influence on job satisfaction, as evidenced by the results of the F test from multiple linear regression analysis with a stepwise procedure where the Fratio is 629.150 for a model that only involves one independent variable, namely environmental variables outside the organization, so that we get : Y = 0.1467 + 1.1242X1. Meanwhile, the variables that dominantly influence employee job satisfaction are environmental variables outside the organization with an r² of 93.88 percent. The results of research on permanent educational staff show that environmental variables outside the organization, organizational conditions, work groups and individual personality types together have a significant influence on the job satisfaction of permanent educational staff at the PERBANAS Surabaya School of Economics and Sciences, as evidenced by the results of the F test from the analysis multiple linear regression full regression procedure where Frdtio is 408.923, so we get: Y = 0.6244+0.1507Xl+0.3115X2+0.2405X3+0.1005X4 Meanwhile, the dominant variable influencing the job satisfaction of educational staff remains the work group variable with r² of 17.41 percent. Based on the mean difference test of two independent populations, it is proven that there is a difference in job satisfaction between employees and permanent educational staff at the PERBANAS Surabaya College of Economics where the tcount value is 4.9530 which is greater than the ttable of ± 1.988. Based on the above, it is best for institutions to always improve the level of welfare of employees and permanent educational staff, to obtain an organizational climate and work atmosphere that is more harmonious and family friendly. Apart from that, institutions should be more fair in developing policies for the development and training of permanent employees and educational staff, as well as being able to prepare transfer and promotion programs. Which can further stimulate employee work performance.
