Abstract
Performance management will be created very well if there is thorough preparation. This means that performance management can be felt and well received by the assessor and the object to be assessed in this case the employee. Thus, if performance management can be implemented well, it is expected to form a positive attitude of employees and ultimately employees as optimally as possible to improve and enhance their performance. Therefore, this study aims to determine the direct effect of performance management on employee performance, as well as to determine the indirect effect of performance management on the performance of employees in the production department of PTPN XI (Persero) PK. Rosella Baru Surabaya through employee attitudes as an intervening variable. The number of employees in the production department of PTPN XI (Persero) PK. Rosella Baru Surabaya is 70 people, all of whom were used as samples in this study. The research method used is a quantitative method, while the analysis technique to test the hypothesis uses path analysis. The results of the study indicate a significant direct influence of performance management on employee attitudes with a critical ratio value of 2.150 and a significance level of 0.032, employee attitudes towards performance with a critical ratio value of 2.866 and a significance level of 0.004, performance management on employee performance with a critical ratio value of 6.974 and a significance level of 0.000. The results of the study also indicate an indirect influence of performance management on performance intervened by employee attitudes with a standardized coefficient value of 0.063.
