Abstract
The aim of this study is to test and explain the influence of financial literacy, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control on the investment intentions of potential investors. The conceptual framework is built based on the theory of planned behavior. Using quantitative methods, this study used 297 respondents who were determined by random sampling. Respondents were students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, who had taken financial management courses. The analysis technique used to test the data obtained was 2 analyzes, namely factor analysis and multiple linear regression. Based on analysis and hypothesis testing, the results obtained were that the four hypotheses proposed were all accepted. The research results show that subjective norms have the greatest positive and significant influence on investment intentions. Based on these empirical findings, researchers in this study found theoretical and managerial implications. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of knowledge related to investment intentions which are explained by factors from the adopted basic theory. Practically, this study offers a useful perspective for potential investors in making investment decisions that they will make now and in the future.
