(FEB NEWS) The men's basketball team of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) recorded a brilliant achievement by winning their first victory in 2025. In the prestigious LIGA FISIP UI 2025 event which took place at the Gymnasium of the University of Indonesia!, they succeeded in bringing honor to the campus by appearing impressively and full of fighting spirit.
The UI FISIP League is an annual competition organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia. This year's competition took place from May 3–10, 2025, and featured more than 10 basketball teams representing faculties from various universities across Indonesia, from Makassar to Surabaya.
Despite facing tough opponents from various parts of the country, the FEB UNAIR basketball team showed a solid and consistent performance. Consisting of 12 great players: Fahran Adhya Athalla, Muhammad Asyrafurrahim, Reza Rajhendra Rachman, Fathunni'am Khoirirroza PA, Renanda Aryasakti, Ega Bintang Pandora S, Aditya Pangestu, Dimas Aulia Wiratma, Akhtar Nirwana Putra Agung, Made Surya Wikan Adyatma, Muhammad Syayid Rizky, and Aditya Daffa Nanda, they went through match after match with attractive and determined play, until finally they managed to advance to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, FEB UNAIR had to concede the victory to FEB PERBANAS. However, the defeat didn't dampen the players' spirits. They rallied to battle for third place against the UKSW FKIK team. With high fighting spirit and a well-thought-out game strategy, the FEB UNAIR basketball team dominated and secured the victory, taking home the 2025 UI FISIP LEAGUE 3rd Place trophy.
The participation of the FEB UNAIR basketball team in the 2025 FISIP UI League not only improves sports achievements but also positively contributes to the development of character, leadership, and student collaboration. Through this national event, FEB UNAIR students gain valuable experience in building inter-faculty and inter-university networks, while strengthening FEB UNAIR's positive image on the national stage as an institution that supports the holistic development of student potential, both in academic and non-academic fields.
