(MOSAIC NEWS) MOSAIC FEB UNAIR successfully held a series of Beneficial Hangout (NOBAR) and Faith and Piety Building Night (MABIT) activities, which are among the flagship work programs for the 2024-2025 period. Both activities were enthusiastically received by FEB UNAIR students, students from various faculties, and the general public.
The series of activities began with NOBAR (Nongkrong Berfaedah) which was held on March 19, 2025. This Islamic study activity in a relaxed but beneficial atmosphere carried the main theme "Spiritual Growth in Academic Life," NOBAR successfully attracted the enthusiasm of students from various faculties and the general public.
Episode 1 of NOBAR, titled "Studying with Barakah: Islamic Hacks for Academic Excellence," featured Ustadz Afri Andiarto, who delivered a light yet meaningful presentation. He offered Islamic tips on how to make learning not only a means of achieving high academic grades but also a means of gaining blessings.
Many students said they were inspired to instill Islamic etiquette, such as maintaining ablution (wudu) during class, beginning with prayer, and maintaining good relationships with teachers and parents. The atmosphere at the Nuruzzaman Mosque during the NOBAR (National Screening) was warm, filled with interactive discussions and togetherness, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.
This spirit of knowledge and spirituality then continued in the MABIT (Night of Faith and Piety) activity held for all members of MOSAIC FEB UNAIR. Themed "Building a Bright Future with Knowledge and Faith," MABIT became a special moment to deepen Quranic development through tahsin, tadabbur, and final recitation.
In addition to providing coaching materials, MABIT also featured alumni sharing sessions, sharing their life experiences, their preaching struggles, and how to overcome challenges as Muslim students. Participants were captivated by the inspiring stories of alumni who successfully balance academic success and preaching activities.
The atmosphere of intimacy is further enhanced by communal tadarus (recitation of the Koran), breaking the fast, and congregational prayer. MABIT is proof that drawing closer to Allah SWT is not only about seriousness, but also about the joy that comes from togetherness.
These two activities not only strengthen faith and brotherhood, but also align with the broader mission of sustainable development. NOBAR supports SDG 4 on quality, inclusive, and equitable education, while MABIT supports SDG 17 on partnerships through collaboration with MOSAIC alumni who serve as speakers and motivators.
With the successful implementation of NOBAR X MABIT, MOSAIC FEB UNAIR is optimistic that it can continue to present inspiring programs that not only educate the mind, but also soothe the heart. Furthermore, MOSAIC FEB UNAIR proves that amidst the busy academic schedule, students can still instill Islamic values that will become provisions for life, in this world and the hereafter. Because in the hands of a young generation who are knowledgeable and moral, the future of the people and nation depends.
