(BEM NEWS) FEB UNAIR welcomed 60 students from SMA Ar Rohmah Putri Boarding School Malang through a Welcome Visit activity at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga, on Tuesday (1/13/2026). The visit, held at the Soepoyo Hall, was designed as an educational public event aimed at opening access to higher education information and introducing various study options and career prospects in the fields of economics and business.
In her remarks, school representative Nanda Rizky Primadiani, S.Sos., expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the warm welcome from the faculty, noting that this activity served as an important stepping stone for the students. "We hope that after leaving this campus, it will broaden our students' horizons regarding the academic world and their career options," she said.
Campus Vision to Study Program Curriculum
Ida Wijayanti, SEI, MSEI, Vice Dean 1 of FEB UNAIR, explained the faculty's profile, including its accreditation achievements, international collaborations, and supporting facilities. "We not only produce academically intelligent graduates, but also graduates who are ready to contribute globally," she emphasized.
The presentation continued with an in-depth explanation of the Islamic Economics Study Program by the Study Program Coordinator, Sulistya Rusgianto, SE, MIF., Ph.D., who highlighted the principles of Islamic economic justice. The session was continued by Dewi Sriani, SA., M.Sc., MSAk., Secretary of the Accounting Study Program, who mapped the competencies of accounting graduates to the needs of modern industry.
Interactive Sessions and Emphasis on Impact
The event featured an interactive question-and-answer session about the college process, career opportunities, and readiness for the workforce. This dialogue demonstrated an increase in higher education literacy and awareness of the importance of early career planning.
The activity clearly supports SDG 4, Quality Education, specifically sub-indicator 4.3.2 (Public events/lifelong learning), by providing a hands-on learning platform for secondary school students. Furthermore, the activity also addresses SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth, by introducing fields of study relevant to future job market needs.
Therefore, FEB UNAIR remains committed to expanding similar outreach programs as part of its real contribution to improving access and quality of education for Indonesia's young generation.
