ASIA WORLD MODEL UNITED NATIONS III
FEB UNAIR – Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) III is an annual event organized by the International Global Network. AWMUN III is an international debate forum where each delegate represents a country and discusses current global topics or issues. This event teaches Universitas Airlangga students not only how to become excellent leaders but also how to improve their public speaking, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills, as well as how to exchange knowledge and expand their networks with other delegates from various countries.
This year, the event was held in Bali, Indonesia on November 13-16, 2019. AWMUN III was attended by 1,289 delegates from 78 countries. The representative from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga who successfully qualified was Sarita Adika Kinasih (S1 Management class of 2016). At this event, in addition to getting a meeting session, the delegates also participated in a beach clean-up, which is a beach cleaning movement that aims to encourage and maintain efforts to take action against plastic waste. This beach clean-up was also carried out in collaboration with the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) Indonesia. At the end of the event, a closing ceremony & cultural night were also held where each delegate wore traditional or national clothes from each country.
