Abstract

Economic development in Indonesia is an important part of national development with the main goal of improving welfare or increasing community income. Increased community income can be created through increased aggregate production and job opportunities. Increased aggregate production and job opportunities can be achieved through company growth. The growth and development of a company depends on human resources, therefore human resource management is very necessary. This study aims to determine the effect of human resource management which includes selection, training and development, compensation, integration and maintenance on the work performance of employees of PT. Mertex Indonesia Mojokerto, to determine the human resource management variables that have a dominant influence and to determine whether there are differences in work performance between male and female employees. The population in this study were 1104 permanent employees in the operational department. The sampling method used the Stratified Random Sampling technique with a sample size of 170 people consisting of 60 female employees and 110 male employees. The research variables consist of human resource management variables that include selection variables (XJ), training and development (X2), compensation (X,), integration (X,), and maintenance (X,) and employee performance (Y). The analysis model used is multiple linear regression and the difference test of two means (t test). Multiple linear regression is used to determine the effect of human resource management that includes selection, training and development, compensation, integration and maintenance on work performance with a significance level set at (a) 5%, and to determine the difference in work performance between male and female employees, a t test is used with a significance level of (a) 5%. The results of the study indicate that simultaneously human resource management that includes selection, training and development, compensation, integration and maintenance has a significant effect on employee performance with the contribution of all variables to performance variations of 47.6%, namely R2 = 0.476. Partially, the dominant variable that influences performance variations is the compensation variable. This is indicated by the value of ? the highest is 0.224 with the smallest probability of 0.004. Based on the results of the two-average difference test (t-test) shows that there is a difference between the performance of male and female employees as indicated by the calculated t value which is smaller than ttaho!l (-0.758 <1.98). And the results of this study are expected to be a consideration for companies in managing human resources and researchers suggest that it should be continued and improved, companies need to evaluate the amount of compensation, need to carry out better training planning and for future researchers need to increase the number of variables.
