Abstract

The policy changes toward a world-class university are mandatory, requiring students to comply, whether they agree or not. On the other hand, students perceive these regulatory changes as a burden and are reluctant to comply. This study examines the influence of variables that influence students' commitment to change, with the goal of ensuring students remain committed to regulatory changes related to publication obligations. These variables are students' psychological contracts and academic resilience. The proposed hypotheses were tested using survey data. A total of 100 respondents were recruited. The results indicate that psychological contracts positively influence academic resilience and commitment to change. Likewise, academic resilience positively influences commitment to change. This means that to increase student commitment to change, managers in higher education can instill a strong psychological contract and assist students in improving their academic resilience. This study will also examine the mediating effect of student academic resilience, as academic resilience is an essential skill for anyone pursuing an education, and this is a novelty of this research.

Keywords: Psychological Contract, Academic Resilience, Commitment to Change.
