Abstract
This study analyzes the effect of job satisfaction on the performance of sugarcane cutters with organizational commitment as an intervening variable at the Padjarakan sugar factory. The performance of sugarcane cutters who are contract workers is very important in the sugar factory process, especially during milling. High job satisfaction results in increased organizational commitment from cutters which will result in improved performance both in quantity and quality. This study is quantitative using path analysis. Data were obtained by conducting a survey of 159 cutter respondents at the Padjarakan sugar factory. The results of testing 2 hypotheses (H1, and H2,) indicate that both hypotheses can be accepted. H1 = Job satisfaction has a direct and positive effect on cutter performance. H2 = Job satisfaction affects cutter performance through organizational commitment as an intervening variable.
