Abstract
In the healthcare industry, supply chain activities related to pharmaceutical products (drugs and medical supplies) are crucial in ensuring high standards of patient care and ensuring adequate drug supply for pharmacies. The purpose of this study is to describe the internal demand process flow and distribution of pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and medical supplies) involving the Surabaya City Health Office Pharmacy Unit, Health Pharmacy Warehouse (GFK), and Community Health Centers along with the obstacles and constraints therein, and to formulate a proposed process flow that can reduce these obstacles and constraints. This research method refers to a cross-sectional design using a descriptive analysis system with an analysis method combining quantitative and qualitative analysis. Data analysis uses a process map referring to the Data Flow Diagram (DFD) concept to present the design of the pharmaceutical preparation supply chain process (drugs and medical supplies). The results of the study show that there are 4 issues in the supply chain process of pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and health supplies), namely (1) availability of pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and health supplies) in the Health Pharmacy Warehouse (GFK), (2) the ability to supply pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and health supplies) in the Health Pharmacy Warehouse, (3) Accuracy of planning pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and health supplies) in the Community Health Center, (4) Deficit of pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and health supplies) in the Community Health Center. The supply chain process of pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and health supplies) in health services in Surabaya City requires improvement and refinement. Integration of data and information between the entities of the Surabaya City Health Office Pharmacy Unit, Health Pharmacy Warehouse (GFK), and the Community Health Center is the key to minimizing problematic issues in the supply chain process of pharmaceutical preparations (drugs and health supplies).
