Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative research that aims to observe and describe the crime rate that occurs in the residential area of Kediri City, especially around PT. Gudang Garam and West Sumbawa Regency around PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. Kediri City and West Sumbawa Regency were chosen because they both have the highest per capita income in the provinces of East Java and West Nusa Tenggara. In addition, the regional income of these two regions is also contributed more by the industrial sector of large companies in the area. This research is then interested in observing the crime rate in the area, more specifically in the residential area around PT. Gudang Garam and PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. The results found in this study are, the crime rate in Kediri City from 2011 to 2013 has increased, as has the number of PORB from the same year. In contrast to what happened in the West Sumbawa Regency area, where the crime rate from 20 II to 2013 decreased, even though the PORB fluctuated, namely decreasing from 2011 and 2012, and increasing again in 2013. Based on the CPTEO guidelines, housing in Kediri City needs to make improvements in the Territoriality sector, while housing in West Sumbawa Regency needs to make improvements in the Access Control sector.
