Abstract

The purpose of this study is to prove the influence of internal and external diversity on company performance. Internal diversity is described by the field of science, education level, age and gender. External diversity is described by special relationships and dual positions. The data analysis method used is descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 21.0 application. The population in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2016-2018. The sample selection in this study uses saturated sampling with a sample size of 252 manufacturing companies. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion previously explained, the study found that internal diversity described by the field of economics and business of corporate secretaries results in higher company performance compared to other fields of science. Education level has a positive effect on company performance. Companies with female corporate secretaries have higher performance than male corporate secretaries. External diversity in this study is described by special relationships and dual positions. Corporate secretaries with special relationships have higher company performance than those without. External diversity is depicted through company secretaries who hold dual positions and have lower company performance than those who do not
