Abstract

The Nurul Hayat Foundation is a social foundation whose initial purpose was to channel donations from donors to the poor. However, some of the funds provided by donors are also used for the foundation's operations and employee salaries. The Nurul Hayat Foundation Surabaya hopes to become an independent foundation, capable of paying employees and financing the foundation's operations not with money from donors but from the foundation itself so that all money from donors can be donated to the poor without deductions. To achieve this goal, the foundation intends to conduct business in order to generate income. To carry out its two functions, namely business and social activities, the foundation has made changes to its vision, mission, strategy, and structure to support its becoming an independent foundation. However, these changes have not been fully completed because the foundation does not have a compensation design that is considered appropriate to support employee performance as an independent foundation. In addition, the descriptions and specifications of the positions owned by the foundation are also not fully owned by each position in the foundation. This also becomes an obstacle in the preparation of employee compensation design. In this study, employee salary design will be carried out by conducting job analysis, job evaluation, market compensation surveys, and salary structures and grading. In the job evaluation process, the FES method will be used because the compensable factors used in the FES method have the same characteristics as the jobs at the Nurul Hayat Foundation, Surabaya.
