Abstract
This study aims to determine how the management and distribution of zakat funds in economic empowerment. This study uses a qualitative research method. The analysis technique used is descriptive with a case study method where this study uses several data collection techniques, namely by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that LAZISMU amil has allocated zakat in the BMW program very well, seen from the structured productive zakat distribution system, starting from coaching, to mentoring during empowerment, as well as appropriate operational standards. The funds used in the program are funds obtained from zakat. If the zakat funds are not considered sufficient, the amil will take the funds in the infaq so that they are sufficient to be distributed and immediately distributed, then the mustahik will be given ten months to return the business capital assistance that has been lent. The empowerment program is able to improve the mustahik's economy due to the reduction in fostered members from the Bina Mandiri Wirausaha program. Success in running the program is the same as success in utilizing ZIS funds to empower the dhuafa.
