Abstract

Based on the results of the real estate purchase decision-making model test, this model shows that individuals who invest in houses or apartments tend to be heuristic in their purchasing decisions, while individuals who buy houses for housing purposes tend to have a more rational decision-making model. The decision-making model also shows that young families make rational purchases, while mature families make heuristic purchases. However, there is no difference in the decision-making model in the Time for Buyer group. The interaction test also shows that first-home buyers in young families with consumption motives tend to be more rational than non-first-home buyers in mature families with investment motives in their home-purchase decisions. Income as a control variable does not show any difference in the home-purchase decision-making model, except when interacting with the family life cycle variable.
