Abstract
The objectives of this study are 1) To analyze the differences in quality perceptions between brands and non-brands on Gupalas packaging; 2) To analyze the differences in quality perceptions between screw packaging and regular Gupalas packaging; 3) To analyze the differences in quality perceptions between the use of several colors of Gupalas packaging; and 4) To analyze the differences in quality perceptions between the use of halal labels on Gupalas packaging and Gupalas packaging without halal labels. This type of research is quantitative research. The sampling technique in this study used nonprobability sampling. The samples in this study were selected from housewives who had not used Gupalas sugar for consumption. The number of samples in this study was 270 respondents. Data analysis in this study used a t-test. The results showed 1) There was no significant difference in quality perceptions between Gupalas brand sugar and unbranded sugar; 2) There was no significant difference in quality perceptions between Gupalas brand sugar packaging with screw and plastic packaging; 3) There was a significant difference in quality perceptions between several colors of Gupalas packaging. The color on the Gupalas sugar packaging that received the highest quality perception rating based on the research results was red and 4) There was a significant difference in quality perception between labeled and unlabeled Gupalas brand sugar.
