Abstract
Investment for employee development in the banking industry is currently very high. With this high investment value, unfortunately, it is also accompanied by a high employee turnover rate. As experienced by PT.X, in 2016 it had 1,012 employees with a turnover rate of 11.69%. This study focuses on testing training effectiveness and organizational prestige as antecedents of employee career development opportunities and later through the mechanism of organizational commitment can minimize employee desire to leave the company. In this study, 172 respondents were used, obtained from distributing questionnaires via email using the census method by examining all relationship officer populations with permanent employee status of 205 people. The results of the study indicate that the antecedent Career growth opportunities, (1) training effectiveness can affect career growth opportunities, while (2) organizational prestige cannot affect career growth opportunities. Career growth opportunities are proven to influence organizational commitment. Organizational commitment is able to fully mediate the influence of career growth opportunities on employee turnover intention. Organizational prestige is proven to have a significant positive effect on organizational commitment directly without going through career growth opportunities.
