Suaramuslim.net – It is narrated that Imran bin Hathan had an ugly face but he had a very beautiful wife. One day his wife looked at her husband and said, “Alhamdulillah.” Imran was curious and asked, “Why do you praise Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala ?” The wife replied, “You and I will be in heaven.” Imran became even more curious, “Why?” The wife replied, “Because you have been given a wife like me, so you are grateful for it, and I have been given a husband like you, so I am patient. Aren’t those who are grateful and patient both in heaven…”

This story is one of the interesting stories contained in the book ' Husband and Wife with Heavenly Character ' by Sheikh Muhammad Mutawalli Asy-Syarawi. It is a beauty if we can be grateful and patient with our partner. Be grateful for all the advantages and be patient with all the shortcomings, because that is human and because that is who we are.

Our partners are like garments that cover our flaws and enhance our strengths, and vice versa. Therefore, our partners' good and bad qualities reflect our good and bad qualities. Because our clothes reflect our selves and our souls. Their good qualities should be appreciated, while their bad qualities reflect us and must be improved. This is implied in the following verse:

" It is lawful for you on the night of the fasting month to mix with your wives; they are clothes for you, and you are clothes for them . " (QS Al Baqarah: 187)

May we all be blessed with a happy and fulfilling home. Amen .
