pov editor and review feb ua 1(HIMA PDIA NEWS) Thursday, March 20, 2025 – In order to improve the understanding of academics and researchers regarding publication standards in reputable journals, TTS Series 3 raised the theme “POV of Editors and Reviewers of Reputable Scopus Journals” in an academic discussion that aims to provide insight into the editorial process and article assessment in reputable journals.

The event, held online via Zoom, featured Saarce Elsye Hatane, SE., M.BA., CA., AK., CMA—editor and reviewer of various Scopus Q1/Q2 journals, a lecturer at Petra Christian University, and a student of PDIA Universitas Airlangga. The moderator was Agung Prasetyo Nugroho Wicaksono, SE., MA, Managing Editor of Jurnal Reviu Akuntansi dan Keuangan (JRAK), a lecturer at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, and a student of PDIA Universitas Airlangga. The discussion took place from 8:00 to 11:00 WIB and was attended by academics, researchers, and students who wanted to understand more about publication strategies in reputable journals.

In her presentation, Saarce Elsye Hatane explained in depth how quality standards are applied in Scopus Q1/Q2 journals and the various challenges authors face during the publication process. "The rigorous peer-review process aims to ensure that each article makes a significant academic contribution and meets research ethics standards," she said.

Some crucial aspects discussed in this session include:
1. The importance of reviewing Call for Papers to ensure articles fit the journal's scope.
2. Reviewing at least 50 articles with 80% of the references coming from the last five years to ensure the relevance and novelty of the research.
3. Understanding the number of publications in a particular journal to identify publication opportunities.
4. Composing a submission title that is not too long to be more attractive to editors and reviewers.
5. A step-by-step explanation of the journal management process, including the division of editor work.
6. The challenges in waiting for responses from reviewers, which often take a long time.
7. The importance of writing articles from a reviewer's perspective to ensure the academic quality and originality of the research.

pov editor and review feb ua 2An interactive discussion was a highlight of the event, with participants given the opportunity to ask direct questions about strategies for getting published in reputable journals, challenges in dealing with reviewer revisions, and tips for improving manuscript quality. Moderator Agung Prasetyo Nugroho Wicaksono also provided information
