(Hima S1 IE News) Department of Welfare Student Welfare Student Society of Economics (HIMA IE) Universitas Airlangga successfully held a Sharing Session activity #1 on Saturday (10/5/2025). Carrying the theme "Empower Your Journey: Unlocking Scholarship Opportunities for a Brighter Future," this activity is designed as an inspirational place for students to explore information, discuss, and learn strategies to achieve scholarships to support self -development during the study period.
This event presented two inspirational speakers who were prestigious scholarship recipients, namely Kelly Natasia Siswanto (Bakti BCA scholarship recipient) and Deasy Saskya Garnida (Recipient of the Kemendikbudristek Scholarship). Both of them share experiences and insight starting from the selection process, document preparation, to tips and tricks to pass the scholarship.
Kelly Natasia Story: Being part of Bakti BCA scholarship
In the first session, Kelly Natasia Siswanto - a student of Unair Economics - tells her experience as a recipient of the Bakti BCA scholarship. He explained that this scholarship was intended for active students at least the third semester who had academic achievement and concern for social issues.
The selection process includes administrative stages, personality assessment, and online interviews. This scholarship provides benefits in the form of monthly pocket money and UKT assistance, as well as opportunities to participate in various self -development training, such as national bootcamp mentoring , to soft skills . According to Kelly, this scholarship not only provides financial support, but also plays an important role in the formation of the character and competencies of students holistically.
Deasy Saskya and Strategies to Pour out Superior Scholarships
The next session was filled by Deasy Saskya Garnida, a class of 2023 economics and a leading scholarship recipient from the Ministry of Education and Culture. Deasy explained important stages in scholarship selection, ranging from writing essays, collection of administrative documents, to interviews. He also stressed the importance of preparing documents neatly and completely, such as KTP, KTM, Value Transcript, Active Certificate, Achievement Certificate, and Lecturer Recommendation Letter.
The superior scholarship provides comprehensive support in the form of full UKT financing, living expenses, and other academic funding assistance. He also shares information about the registration time which is generally opened in July to August every year. Deasy invites participants to prepare themselves from an early age to be more prepared to compete.
Interactive Session and Closing Games
After the delivery of the material, the session continued with an open discussion. The participants who were dominated by UNAIR economics students actively asked questions that reflect the curiosity and personal concerns in the process of pursuing scholarships. The two speakers answered openly and provided practical motivation and suggestions.
In closing, the committee held an interactive game titled "Guess the University Logo" designed to break the atmosphere and increase the intimacy of participants, even though the activities took place online. The enthusiasm of the participants remained high until the end of the event.
