SURABAYA, May 31, 2025 - In commemoration of World Tobacco Day, the Department of Community Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Airlangga University) held a creative campaign titled "Sweet Sweet" at Taman Flora, Surabaya. This activity aims to increase public awareness of the dangers of cigarette consumption and invite people to live a healthier life without tobacco.
One of the main attractions of this campaign is the distribution of sweet arum for free to park visitors. This sweet food is used as a symbol of simple happiness that does not damage health - inversely proportional to cigarettes that often offer a moment of pleasure but have a bad impact in the long run.
Not only that, the students also distributed sticky notes containing persuasive messages posted in various corners of the park. Sentences such as "stopping smoking, starting to live healthy today", "love your lungs, not smoke", and "you are strong without smoking" is expected to arouse the awareness of active smokers and inspire positive changes.
This campaign is a real form of the contribution of FEB Airlangga students in creating a healthier environment and aware of the dangers of tobacco. With a friendly, fun, and full of empathy approach, campaign messages were successfully conveyed effectively to the wider community.
This activity also received a warm welcome from park visitors who appreciated the positive initiatives of students. Through this action, BEM FEB UNAIR hopes to inspire more parties to live a healthy lifestyle and be part of the anti-Tembakau movement.
