(BEM NEWS) On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 100 students from SMAN 16 Surabaya participated in a Welcome Visit or study visit to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR). The event, which took place in Room 207, 2nd floor, FEB UNAIR, was met with high enthusiasm from the participants. The main objective of this activity was to provide an opportunity for students to get to know the world of higher education better, especially the academic environment at FEB UNAIR, and to gain inspiration in planning their future higher education.
The event began with remarks from the President of BEM FEB UNAIR, Renandra Aryasakti. Renandra encouraged the students to dream big and continue striving to achieve their goals. He also emphasized the importance of mental preparedness, hard work, and consistency in achieving goals. He also expressed his hope that SMAN 16 Surabaya students would one day join the FEB UNAIR family.
The next remarks were delivered by the Deputy Head of Curriculum at SMAN 16 Surabaya, Tjahjo Baskoro. He expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given by FEB UNAIR. In his message, Tjahjo emphasized that the opportunity to visit this renowned faculty was a very valuable experience for the students. He hoped that the knowledge, insight, and information gained would not only serve as knowledge but also serve as provisions for determining future steps.
The series of events continued with a presentation on the faculty profile by the Head of the Information and Public Relations Center of FEB UNAIR, Nur Aini Hidayati, SE., M.Si., Ph.D. She comprehensively explained the history, vision, mission, and achievements of FEB UNAIR, which have been recognized both nationally and internationally. In her presentation, Nur Aini also introduced various academic facilities, scholarship opportunities, and international programs that can provide added value for students.
The next session was a presentation on the Undergraduate Management Study Program by the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Management Study Program FEB UNAIR, Dr. Dien Mardhiyah, SE., M.Si. She explained the curriculum structure, concentrations offered, and the very broad career prospects for Management graduates, ranging from the industrial world, entrepreneurship, to multinational institutions. Dr. Dien also motivated students to develop leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills from an early age to be ready to compete in the global era.
The students attentively followed the series of materials. They actively took notes, asked questions, and displayed great enthusiasm. From the speakers' presentations, students gained insight into the world of college, study opportunities, and academic life, which demands both independence and collaboration. This was a valuable experience, providing a realistic picture of the university learning process.
In closing, the students were invited to participate in a light discussion and take a group photo. Through this activity, students are expected to gain inspiration, motivation, and a deeper understanding of the importance of continuing their studies to a higher level.
