(BEM News) Surabaya, July 6, 2025 - Department of Community Service Agency for Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (BEM FEB UNAIR) successfully held a mass circumcision activity titled "Ceria Sunat 2025" on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Himmatun Ayat Orphanage Foundation, Wonorejo, Surabaya.
This activity is the first mass circumcision program initiated by BEM FEB Airlangga University, in collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) of good troops who present volunteer medical teams, and are supported by a number of sponsors, including Moments Cafe and Space, Infaq Management Institute (LMI) Surabaya, and Amira Bilqis.
A total of seven children managed to undergo circumcision procedures in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. More than just a medical action, this activity provides a positive experience and helps alleviate the economic burden of the participants' families. The series of events is designed by paying attention to the comfort and safety of children, as well as creating a cheerful and full moment.
"Ceria Sunat 2025" is a clear proof of the contribution of the Universitas Airlangga in answering the social needs of the community through a humanist and inclusive approach. This activity is also in line with the commitment Universitas Airlangga to the achievement of Sustainable Development Objectives (SDGs), especially SDG 3: Healthy and Prosperous Life.
Through the provision of free health services for children from underprivileged families, this activity encourages an improvement in the quality of life while increasing public awareness about the importance of health from an early age. On the other hand, the involvement of medical volunteers and students in this activity also provides a social contribution space that has a real impact.
In the future, FEB UNAIR is committed to continuing to present a community service program that focuses on health and welfare issues. With the spirit of collaboration, concern, and sustainability, similar activities are expected to continue as part of the active role of the campus in building a healthier and more inclusive society.
