Introducing Islamic economic potential as the key to the success of Gen Z in the Society 5.0 era
(Access News) The rapid development of technology in the Society 5.0 era has brought significant changes in human life, including in the economic sector. Ease of access and digitalization has allowed economic activity to be carried out anytime and anywhere. However, this development has not been matched by an increase in financial literacy, especially among the younger generation.
Responding to this, UKMF Access Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga held an annual Islamic economic safari on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Al-Uswah SMAit Surabaya. This year, the Safari Islamic Economics carries the theme "Sharia Economy: Key to Gen Z Success in the Society 5.0 era." The main speakers in this activity were Fahmi Faturrahman, student of the Islamic Economics Study Program Universitas Airlangga class of 2021, with Moderator Faiza Aulia Afifa, a class of 2024 from the same study program.

In the core session, Fahmi Faturrahman explained the material regarding the introduction of the basic concepts of sharia economics, as well as the urgency of understanding the Islamic economy for the younger generation, especially Gen Z. He emphasized that the principles of Islamic economics-from justice, balance, and benefit-can be a solution to various contemporary economic problems.
The event continued with an interactive discussion session that received high enthusiasm from the participants. This session is a forum for students to dig deeper into the material that has been delivered, as well as providing space to ask questions and discuss actively.
