Building social empathy through social responsibility acces: UKMF Reasoning ACSES FEB UNAIR presents happiness in the month of Ramadan

(AcSES NEWS) Social care is a crucial pillar in creating an inclusive and just society. In the spirit of the blessed Ramadan, the AcSES Reasoning Student Activity Unit (UKMF) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) held a social activity titled AcSES Social Responsibility on Thursday, March 22, 2025, at the Muhammadiyah Gresikan Orphanage in Surabaya.

This activity aims to foster empathy, strengthen relationships, and ease the burden on the orphanage children by providing donations and providing fun, interactive activities. A series of events were held warmly, ranging from Islamic studies and educational games to breaking the fast together.

The series of activities opened with remarks from the Executive Chair, Hadiyan Izzatul Haq, followed by the General Chair of AcSES, Muhammad Taufiq Hidayat, and representatives from the orphanage. The event continued with an Islamic study session highlighting the importance of sharing in life, delivered in a lighthearted yet meaningful atmosphere.

One of the most anticipated parts is the games and wish tree session, where the children from the orphanage write down their dreams and hopes for the future. This activity is not only a form of entertainment but also encourages and motivates them to keep dreaming.

Additionally, a donation of Rp 2,000,000 was handed over from the committee to the orphanage management as a tangible demonstration of their concern. The event concluded with a communal iftar (breaking the fast) and the distribution of refreshments, adding to the warm atmosphere.

"Through this activity, we hope to foster a sense of gratitude among students while also providing direct benefits to the community," said Hadiyan, the Executive Chair.

This activity represents AcSES's concrete contribution to achieving SDGs 1 (No Poverty) and 2 (No Hunger), through the collection and distribution of donations to meet the basic needs of the children at the orphanage. Furthermore, the warm interactions, educational games, and Islamic studies also support SDG 3 (Health and Well-Being) by creating a space of happiness and emotional support for the children.

The success of this activity was also demonstrated by the achievement of the Rp2,000,000 donation target, which was fully distributed to the program's needs. The entire event was also publicized through AcSES's official social media channels, providing transparency and inspiration for other students.

AcSES Social Responsibility is a concrete manifestation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in community service. This activity not only serves as a means of sharing happiness during the holy month but also strengthens humanitarian values and solidarity among the younger generation on campus.
