TALK ABOUT POLITICS

The Student Legislative Body (BLM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) will hold a spectacular activity after a long wait which will bring in speakers from the East Java DPRD and PKKA on Saturday, October 25, 2025, which will take place in the GKB 2.06 Room, Campus C.

This activity will be interesting by inviting important guests from outside the university. This activity aims to Increase students' understanding and knowledge of political economy, Help strengthen students' character and hone students' critical thinking as well as Equip students with knowledge about political economy that will be useful in the future. Through the activity "Talking About Politics: Hope Amidst the Job Crisis" , students are encouraged to think critically with supplies from the East Java DPRD to discuss the real challenges faced by young people in the world of work and find solutions together.

This event serves as an educational and advocacy platform to raise political awareness and encourage the active participation of the younger generation in determining the direction of policies that will impact their future.

Below we attach the relationship between BISTIK activities and the Sustainable Development Goals:
• SDG 4 – Quality Education:
This activity aims to improve students’ understanding, knowledge, and character, as well as hone critical thinking. This is in line with the target of SDG 4, which is to ensure inclusive, quality education, and encourage lifelong learning.
• SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth:
The main topic of the activity is discussing the employment crisis and finding solutions, which is directly related to SDG 8, which is to encourage inclusive economic growth and decent work for all.
• SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions:
This activity involves speakers from the East Java Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) to increase students’ political awareness, encourage participation in determining policy directions, and build character and active participation, in line with SDG 16 which emphasizes strong institutional development, transparency, and public participation.
