Sector Upgrading is an annual activity of LPPM Sector FEB Unair as an inauguration event for new students who officially become new members of the Sector and as a form of handover of office from the old management to the new management. This Upgrading was held at Villa New Bukit Sengkaling on Friday-Sunday? October 26-28, 2018. The 2018 Upgrading period carries the theme "Exploring the Sensitivity of the Surrounding World" where in today's era the tension of sensitivity to the surrounding world has decreased. So with this goal it is hoped that upgrading participants can be more sensitive to the surrounding world.

This upgrading, also known as nature training, is a form of implementation of spatial training, as a real-life field experience. This allows journalists to experience real-world practice and be able to carry out their duties as field journalists. The 2018 upgrading selected the "Terminal" as the location. The mandatory assignment for new Sector members in the nature training was interviews and presentations using as creative media as possible, with the sub-themes "Greeting Natives" and "Competing Empathy" as output for writing and work. The event also included games that also fell under the theme of sensitivity and care, thus bringing significant sensitivity to life.

This event provides assessments by long-standing or senior Sector members with experience in their respective fields. This allows them to identify indicators of success and the extent of output the Sector can deliver going forward.
