The School of Journalism is an annual program of the LPPM Sector of FEB UNAIR. This year, the training, which invited three speakers, carried the theme "Burning with Pen and Camera." The event was held at the Mindrowo Hall of FEB UNAIR on Saturday, September 8. In addition to representatives of FEB UNAIR student organizations, the event also invited students from outside FEB and UNAIR. The three speakers were Moh. Wahyu, a student representative, Musahada, a journalist representative, and Wirasakti Setyawan, a social influencer .
The event opened with remarks from the event chair and the head of the LPPM Sector FEB UNAIR, followed by a video teaser. The purpose of this event was to ignite the enthusiasm of the invitees to create works of art, both through writing and drawing, especially photographs. In his presentation, the first speaker, Moh. Wahyu, shared his experience of having his writing rejected, but he did not give up. This physics student actually felt more motivated to produce quality writing, because it is through writing that humans will be remembered.
Next, the second material was delivered by Musahada, familiarly known as Mbak Uus. She is a Surya Online editor who has long been involved in the world of journalism. Being a reporter like her requires expertise and shouldering responsibilities related to the code of ethics. The closing material was delivered by Wirasakti Setyawan, a social influencer and a skilled photographer. The world of college for a Wira is not only limited to grades, but also various opportunities to explore abilities. In between the presentation of the material, a discussion session was opened, participants seemed enthusiastic because vouchers were also given to those who actively asked questions. The handover of souvenirs and a group photo closed this event. It is hoped that the School of Journalism participants will gain knowledge that has been conveyed by the three speakers.
