BECOME A YOUNG MUSLIM ENTREPRENEUR
Currently, economic competition in the world is increasingly complex and global. This requires society to be independent and competitive. Everyone is required to have soft skills related to entrepreneurship, and Muslims are no different. A Muslim is not only required to be an expert in matters of the afterlife, but in world affairs Muslims are also required to be successful as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad.
In order to develop entrepreneurial soft skills, the Community Welfare Division of MOSAIC (Moslem Student Association of Economic & Business Faculty) is holding entrepreneurial activities with the theme Muslimpreneur. Muslimpreneur is a combination of the words Muslim and Entrepreneur, with the aim of training Muslims to have an entrepreneurial spirit. MOSAIC itself is at the Faculty of Economics and Business, requiring its students to be experts in the world of entrepreneurship. Muslimpreneur activities consist of two activities, namely the Book Exchange and the Honesty Canteen. The Book Exchange itself was held on Thursday (6/9/2018), located in the Brotherhood Hall of the Nuruzzaman Mosque, Universitas Airlangga and coincided with the Beautiful Sharing Study. The Book Exchange was held to sell Islamic books, especially about Muslim women. The target of this activity is Muslim women who are migrating or want to remain steadfast. Apart from entrepreneurship, the committee also has a mission to preach through selling Islamic books.
In addition, a honest canteen was also held on the Graha Krida Student Exchange and the Mosaic Secretariat. Honesty canteen is held from February and September 2018. In this canteen, the committee sells foods that are in accordance with student sacs, but also filling. This activity prioritizes honesty. The results of the Book Exchange and Honesty canteen are used for Mosaic operational funds. Being an entrepreneur must start from zero. Therefore, Mosaic tried to start from a small business.
