In an effort to build an economy and society that involves all levels, transforming cooperatives into more environmentally friendly ones is a crucial step towards achieving sustainable economic growth. Cooperatives, as business organizations that uphold the value of inclusivity, play a central role in empowering all members of society regardless of differences. As awareness of the importance of protecting the environment grows, the implementation of sustainable business becomes increasingly urgent. Green cooperatives demonstrate a commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable business practices, wisely utilizing natural resources and preserving the environment.
In this context, Kopmaweek 2024 at Universitas Airlangga aims to raise awareness of the role of cooperatives in building an inclusive and sustainable economy and inspire concrete steps towards a more environmentally friendly cooperative transformation and broader economic empowerment. This will be achieved through a series of activities, namely KOPMEET (Cooperative Meeting), YCC (Youth Cooperation Competition), and YCS (Youth Cooperation Seminar). This event not only supports SDG 3: Healthy Lives and Well-Being by promoting a healthier environment through environmentally friendly cooperative practices, but also supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing comprehensive education to participants on the importance of cooperative management and sustainable business, as well as the development of entrepreneurial skills among young people.
