The Doctoral Student Association of Economics, Universitas Airlangga , is proud to host a Doctoral Scientific Discussion (DID) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB at Universitas Airlangga. This event is designed as an academic forum bringing together doctoral students, researchers, and academics to broaden their horizons, enrich their research perspectives, and strengthen their scientific networks in the field of economics.
In this forum, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of various economic and social data sources that are crucial for research, both nationally and internationally. Some of the key topics to be discussed include the National Economic and Social Survey (SUSENAS), which provides an overview of household consumption and socio-economic conditions; the National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS), which serves as the primary reference for workforce analysis; and Village Potential (PODES), which presents regional characteristics and village development potential. Furthermore, participants will also study the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI) to understand population and public health issues; the World Development Indicator (WDI) as a global development database; and the Indonesia Database for Policy and Economic Research (INDODAPOER), which provides comprehensive information for policy analysis and economic research in Indonesia.
Through these discussions, the event aims to equip participants with practical knowledge regarding the use of big data in research, inspire new research topics, and encourage collaboration between researchers across disciplines. Participants will gain not only methodological understanding but also practical insights that can be used to support dissertation writing, scientific publications, and evidence-based policy analysis.
This Doctoral Scientific Discussion is open to doctoral students, researchers, lecturers, and practitioners interested in Indonesian socio-economic issues and the use of data for decision-making. By participating, participants will have the opportunity to expand their academic networks, exchange research experiences, and broaden their scientific perspectives.
Don't miss this valuable opportunity. Save the date: Tuesday, August 19, 2025, 9:00–12:00 WIB at Universitas Airlangga.
