Indonesia has now entered the era of Society 5.0, where all industries are required to embrace modern technological developments. All industries must make changes to adapt to modern technology. This era of Society 5.0 has had a significant impact on various industries in Indonesia, including the MSME sector. Several industrial sectors are experiencing decline due to their inability to keep pace with modern technological advancements. Industries must make various changes and utilize technology in their business management strategies to remain sustainable. One sector impacted by Society 5.0 is the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. This industry is a place where people can channel their creative work or other endeavors.
MSMEs have developed into an industry that makes a significant and crucial contribution to the Indonesian economy at large. Furthermore, their existence also aims to provide employment opportunities for the general public without higher education. MSMEs in Indonesia are inseparable from the creativity of community businesses, such as food and beverages, tourism, services, and everything related to the creative economy. All of these community-owned businesses are integrated with government resources to improve economic, social, and cultural conditions.
The millennial generation is a generation that fully utilizes technology in the era of Society 5.0. Millennials have great potential to advance MSMEs in Indonesia because they work faster and smarter, supported by technology. Therefore, the millennial generation is expected to lead MSMEs to continue improving their development and also be able to create new value in the technological developments of Society 5.0
Based on the description that has been submitted, we from MARKETING CLUB ON TEACHING (MARCH) will hold the 2021 Marketing Plan Competition by inviting students from all over Indonesia to contribute their creative ideas in developing the marketing transformation of MSMEs in the era of society 5.0 with the theme "Actualization Marketing Revolution Of MSMEs In Society 5.0". Based on this, we as the academic community Universitas Airlangga want to contribute and contribute creative ideas in developing the marketing transformation of MSMEs through the 2021 Marketing Plan Competition.
