I. 22nd Economic Olympiad
The Economics Student Association is one of the student organizations of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga which is a forum for students to develop their potential, both in academic and non-academic fields. By prioritizing the values ​​of family, professionalism, and integrity based on knowledge, HIMA IE Universitas Airlangga is expected to be able and will continue to develop itself to provide the best contribution in supporting the progress of Economics students. The Economic Olympiad (OE) is a work program organized by HIMA IE Universitas Airlangga in order to test the abilities/knowledge in the field of economics and train the competitive spirit of high school students/equivalent which is also intended to introduce the Economics Department Universitas Airlangga .

II. Description of the Economic Olympiad Theme
“Empowering the Young Economist: Fostering Public Welfare and Sustainable Growth in Shaping a Better Future”
Indonesia is faced with various crucial challenges in the economic sector, ranging from tax optimization issues, efficient state budget management, to the challenges of equitable and sustainable infrastructure development. Departing from this reality, the 22nd Economic Olympiad raised the theme “Empowering the Young Economist: Fostering Public Welfare and Sustainable Growth in Shaping a Better Future” as a forum to educate and empower the younger generation in understanding the important role of economic insight in people's lives. In facing the challenges of economic development and public welfare, the younger generation is expected to be able to become agents of change who think critically, provide solutions, and are innovative. Through this Olympiad, students from various regions in Indonesia will be encouraged to become young economists who not only excel academically, but also have social awareness and concern for national development. This Olympiad is not only a competition, but also a learning and collaboration space to produce agents of change who are ready to contribute to creating a more just and prosperous future.
This Olympiad supports the achievement of several key points in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
● SDG 4 (Quality Education)
This Olympiad provides access to quality economic education to young people from various backgrounds. This Olympiad is a learning tool that fosters analytical thinking skills, economic logic, and an understanding of complex development issues, an important contribution in creating a more knowledgeable and capable society to face global challenges.
● SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)
By instilling an entrepreneurial spirit, raising awareness of the importance of an inclusive economy, and encouraging the development of skills relevant to the needs of the world of work. Participants are not only invited to understand economic theory, but are also encouraged to formulate solutions to real economic problems, thereby fostering a commitment to contributing to equitable and sustainable economic growth.
● SDG 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals)
This Olympiad reflects a real form of collaboration between various parties, with the aim of expanding access to economic education, developing the capacity of the younger generation, and inviting them to play an active role in the development agenda.

III. Objectives and Targets of Activities
● Objectives:

1. Providing a platform for high school students to hone the skills they have acquired at school and outside of school.
2. Introducing the Economics Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga to high school students and equivalent so that it is hoped that it can become an option for continuing education at the tertiary level.
3. Implementing the annual work program of the Economics Student Association Universitas Airlangga Surabaya in its work program for the 2025 period.

● Target:
The target of the 22nd Economic Olympiad is high school students and equivalent who are interested and active in economic subjects and want to develop their knowledge in the field of economics.
