GIBEI NEWS – The world of investment, particularly stocks and mutual funds, is gaining increasing interest among the general public. Therefore, education from various capital market institutions, investors, and practitioners needs to be intensified and enhanced. One way to achieve this is by establishing a Capital Market School (SPM) to provide a deeper understanding and knowledge of the capital market and its products.

The Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) of FEB Unair, as the organizer of this SPM event, is opening registration for seminar participants from all walks of life, including both young and old. This SPM event was held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Mindrowo Hall, 4th Floor, FEB Unair. The event began at 9:00 a.m. WIB with an opening by the two MCs, Purbo Raharjo and Metta, followed by an opening and remarks from the Chairperson of the SPM Executive Board, Fary, and Investment Management Lecturer, Mr. Rahmat Heru.

The SPM organizing committee also invited several professional and competent speakers, namely Mr. Dyan Fajar Mahardika as Executive Trainer of BEI East Java Representative Office to deliver the material for session I, which is an introduction to the capital market and how trading mechanisms on the stock exchange work, and Mr. Edi Murdiono as Marketing Officer of Indo Premier Sekuritas to deliver the material for session II. The presentation of the material given by Mr. Fajar lasted approximately 100 minutes. Many participants were very enthusiastic in the presentation session of the material in session I, asking questions with a very deep curiosity. One of the participants named Dionisius actively asked questions regarding the trading mechanisms on the stock exchange. Participants who actively asked questions were given gifts by the organizing committee. After session I was over, the organizing committee also gave a plaque to Mr. Fajar as a sign of gratitude for being willing to be a speaker.

The activity then continued with a break (rest, prayer, and meal) from 11:35 to 12:35. Some participants rushed out to get supplies for food and prayer. After the break, the second material session was delivered by Mr. Edi Murdiono, who discussed trading simulations in the Indo Premier application, how to use order books and stock transactions, and introduced the features within the IPOT application. The second material session also lasted 100 minutes and was followed by a question and answer session. Participants were seen asking more questions than in the first session, as the emphasis was more on trading simulations and practice than theory.

We have arrived at the end of the event, namely the presentation of a plaque to Mr. Edi and also a group photo of the entire committee with the speakers and also Mr. Rahmat Heru as a Lecturer in Investment Management.
