Capital Markets School Even 2021

Capital Markets School Even 2021

On Friday, April 30, 2021, the Capital Markets Study Group of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University (KSPM), held the Capital Markets School, an annual event. The Capital Markets School itself is an educational and outreach program for capital market investment. The target participants are those unfamiliar with capital markets and investment but interested in learning more. This year's Capital Markets School was held as a webinar, featuring two speakers from the Indonesia Stock Exchange and IPOT.

One of the speakers at this year's SPM was Dyan F. Mahardika, an Executive Trainer for the Indonesia Stock Exchange. He provided an overview of the importance of investment. In his presentation, the speaker explained how inflation continues to occur over time, explaining that if money is not used properly, it will continue to suffer losses due to the decline in the currency's value. Therefore, in light of this problem, investment is one solution to combat inflation. He also presented on the capital market, including existing instruments, the structure of the capital market in Indonesia, investor growth during the pandemic, and Indonesia's financial literacy rate.

The second speaker was Imelda, a senior representative from IPOT Surabaya. The material presented in this second session covered IPOT products, including the applications provided by IPOT to facilitate personal financial management. Furthermore, the session also explained in detail how to open an IPOT account and how to invest. Ms. Imelda also provided tips for selecting stocks, including fundamental and technical analysis.

Although this year's Capital Market School was held online, it didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the participants. Not only did the SPM program feature presentations from the speakers, but it also included games throughout the program, making the Capital Market School less monotonous and more interactive for the participants.
