The Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery (GIBEI) is a platform for developing financial interests for students and the general public on campus. Activities at the investment gallery involve students from the Faculty of Economics, who act as daily administrators and hold a scientific paper competition on capital markets, serving as a bridge for students seeking to hone their skills in the capital markets sector.

To celebrate the 3rd Gibei Festival (GG3), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), held a scientific writing competition. Scientific writing is a common practice among students. Many students produce creative and innovative scientific works. However, not all students are willing to produce a scientific work. Most students are less interested in creating such a work. One reason is that some consider it too complicated.

The series of events were held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, welcomed by Dr. Efrizal Sofyan as the Dean of FEB UNP. The competing participants came from various regions, starting from 20 participating teams to being selected into 5 participating teams, one of which was Universitas Airlanggateam. Various ideas that can solve the problem of capital market literacy were conveyed by fellow competition participants. Then continued with a break and a workshop to motivate students to participate in investing in the capital market. By bringing in a resource person who is experienced in capital markets, namely Mr. Supardi. He said that a student should participate in investing in the capital market because of the many benefits we get.

The event concluded with a field trip and a social gathering on Sunday, November 25, 2018. We visited Istano Pagaruyung, Loebang Jepang, and a souvenir shop in Padang, West Sumatra. We learned a lot about history, as each place we visited held a story from the past. This also helped us grow stronger and feel a sense of family, even though we come from different regions.
